Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book?

Drop-in visits:

If you have not yet joined the client portal, please complete the New Clients form. We will follow up soon after about scheduling a meet n greet. After the meet n greet, you will receive an invite by email to join the client portal. Upon joining, you will be able to make booking requests, pay invoices, send messages, and receive visit summaries all through the portal.

Meet n greets (virtual or in-person) are required for all new clients. Those who have booked with us in the past (i.e., via Rover) will receive an invite to join the portal upon completing the New Clients form.

Consultations:

Please use the Contact form to schedule a consultation. Be sure to specify your reason(s) for scheduling, any questions you have, length of session, preference for in-home vs virtual, and a few dates you’d be available to meet.

If needed, please also feel free to email us directly at info@tuxedobrothersco.com or call/text us at (984) 217-7297.

Who can book?

We are currently only serving Durham, Chapel Hill, and Carrboro. We are also limited to caring for cats and small pets at this time. We do hope to expand to other areas and be more inclusive of other pets as we grow.

All folks are welcome to book with us- regardless of your race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, or background, we’re here to provide loving and respectful care for your pet(s). We aim to create a safe and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and all pets receive the best care.

How do you care for pets in your client's home?

After meeting pet parents and pets to determine if we're a good match, we’re happy to stop by homes to check in on pets and to take care of any pet-related tasks. We can give pets (with their consent of course), feed them, play with them, clean up after them (including litter boxes), and do light grooming. If there's anything you'd like that’s not listed, just ask! Additional fees may be applied for non-pet care needs (chores, housecleaning, plant care, etc.).

The most important thing is safety, so we always check in about health concerns and conditions and pets preferences. We are also always sure to clean hands and change footies between homes. We’re huge on communication- We will check in during/after visits and always share photos from visits.

What fun activities will you do with the pets?

A typical visit starts with ensuring everyone has fresh water and food. We then check that they have a comfortable and safe space, including clean litterbox, bedding, etc. The rest of the time is spent playing with them and giving all the lovies.

What important things should be shared about the pets ahead of time?

Please share any medical considerations and special conditions, allergies, emergency and vet contacts, age and activity level of your pet, things that make your pet anxious or fearful, or other things to keep an eye out for. During the meet n greet, we’ll also take notes on general care needs (e.g., food, water, litter box, etc.).

How do holiday rates work?

Please note that bookings scheduled during the following holidays are subject to a holiday surcharge. A $10 holiday fee will be applied to each visit during holiday bookings. This helps us ensure continued availability and high-quality care during peak times. Contact us with any questions.
